Description

Overview

The production associate will be responsible for utilizing provided equipment to trim meat to company and order standards and comply with all USDA and OSHA regulations. Develops good relationships with all associates, complies with all company policies.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Responsible for trimming meat to specifications per order.

• Responsible for packaging, loading, unloading and transferring product to correct slots and locations.

• Stock product in warehouse to include utilizing equipment and lifting and carrying merchandise to place on shelves.

• Inspect product for deficiencies prior to shipment or warehouse storage.

• Maintain a neat and orderly workplace at all times to include moving product, cleaning production equipment, sweeping, and successfully operate manual and electric power jacks.

• Weigh, package, wrap and/or bag, and label products.

• Ability to read weight/label scale (numbers). Must be able to use a knife for cutting and preparing food products. Ability to work in a fast-paced food production environment. Knowledge of sanitation procedures helpful.

• Follow all safety regulations and work in a safe and ergonomic manner.

• Stock product in cold storage and freezer storage areas.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, or previous experience in a production related area, or suitable combination of education and relevant experience preferred;

• Experience with trimming/slicing meat is beneficial;

• Ability to interact and communicate effectively and professionally, and provide exceptional service, both internally and externally at all times;

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. May be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 75 pounds occasionally. The associate is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The associate is consistently required to stand/walk. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a typical food production environment (varied temperatures; frequent refrigerated/cold/wet environment) and is rarely exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee will be exposed to refrigerated/freezer coolers on a frequent basis. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
